With a population of half a million, Dresden is the state capital of Saxony and is known for its stunning architecture, deserving of its nickname: ‘Florence on the Elbe.’


Since the days of the Holy Roman Empire, Leipzig has been a trading post – located at the intersection of two mercantile highways, the Via Imperia and the Via Regia.


On this tour, we’ll explore two very different histories in the scenic city of Potsdam. First of all, for almost three hundred years, Potsdam was the home of the Prussian royal family, the Hohenzollerns.


Considering that the official German name of this small city – an hour’s train ride from Berlin and nestled in beautiful countryside – is Lutherstadt Wittenberg, no surprises about the main topic of our walking tour!
